I like to watch "The Girls Next Door" becuase I think it's a really funny show. But it makes me think even though these girls have gained some fame and money and have all they want, they don't live a happy life. They share an 80-year-old boyfriend, they're not able to go on long trips unless it's with Hefner and the girls, they can't be with ir families as much as they'd like to. They just have to be "HEF'S GIRLFRIENDS"... do you really think they live a happy life?

I don't think Hef lives a happy life either... even though he's got all the money and sex he could ever dream of...

I think for each of them they know it's just a temporary arrangement. They use Hef and he uses them. It's free rent and food, plus the chance to meet industry people. Of course I agree with you. It's not the type of situation that can lead to permanent happiness but these type don't care. The only woman to get long term support from hef is the mother of his child. She got a house and child/spousal support.

I watched the show last night and it kind of disgusted me. The girls consider themselves each others girlfriends also. I took that as more than friends. I just can't see them being that happy with their lives, they could have so much more but they are getting publicity out the a** right now being on the show. Guess money and sex are enough. But Hef has tons of control over them, he approves who comes to his house and most of entertainment is there. Wonder what happens if one of his girls meets a guy she likes??

I think that both parties are using each other..isn't one of the girls going to school?? she lives in a hugh house, doesn't have ne bills and prolly has school paid for..i'd say if they were smart they would be putting ne and all of their $$ back and use hef's $$ and then when he moves on to the next round of girlfriends they have some $$..and the other 2 should be like the one going to school..get a figgin education out of the deal..cuz beauty doesn't last forever..and neither does playboy $$, just ask anna nichole..(lol) and for the question of are they happy...they are all young 20ish girls..they get to be in the playboy house..they get to meet big stars and live for free..they have their own tv show, for no reason other then they are dating hef..hell yeah they are happy...wouldn't you be at that age that you don't know better..

No, if they were happy then they wouldn't be Hef's girlfriends. I think they have a serious problem. Someone with morals and a good head on their shoulders, wouldn't date an 80 year old man, with a bunch of girlfriends, no matter how rich he was.

I think these girls are just in for a joy ride, gold diggers to be exact and they are not all that hot either.. I think all of them look like trailer trash..absolutly no class!!!
You think if Hugh worked just an ordinary job like pump gas or work at Mc Donald..these girls would go for him??? it's obvious that it's the money that has attracted them to him. These girls have no self esteem or any shame i guess that they would do a man old enough to be their grandfather!!! what does that say about them?

I do think they live a happy life. They are all 21-25 or so, a time when you experiment finding what you like. They wouldn't be doing it if there wasn't something in it for them, money and fame aside.

Sure. They're all Gold-diggers who are boning Hugh Heffner and milking the hell out of his money and boosting thier own carreers. So It only makes sense they'd be happy, they're doing what Gold-diggers do best.

I wonder if any of the girls have sex with other men... I don't think they're happy. They are "rich happy" but not "relationship happy" he may die soon... what will they do then... GO WILD.

i guess it depends on what they need to be happy..
i think to be a hef gf.. you need to have different priorties.. i imagine the fame,, and all the nice things he provides for them..
