Yes, it is indeed one of the criteria to get more answers if the category is rightly selected. The reason is simple; if I am bored at finding a question placed in wrong category then I would get a bit confused and try to skip that question, even if I would know the answer.
The other thing is to know when the crowds are surfing most, to get the most of the answers.
Wish you get as much replies to your this question as the category and timing seems to be okay!
