Become a recluse.

For my experience, the best way to do it, it is to ignore them plus being strong and let him/her know that you are strong. The problem becomes harder if that person is your boss, your wife, your relative, or someone very close. In those cases, you have to follow different strategies. the other variable is for how long is hurting your feelings. For example, if you boss is hurting your feelings, you have to be prepared to have a good talk about that before it becomes the usual way to relate each other. In that case, you have to be firm. If the person is your colleague, more or less the same but, in that case, you can use more of the ignorance part of the strategy. In any case, it will depend on the case, person, situation, time, etc. I hope it helps...

You don't explain how people are hurting you. In general, you have to try and be strong, to believe in yourself that you are a good person, doing your best in life even if you make mistakes like anyone else, and that no-one has a right to abuse or humiliate you.
If someone tries to hurt you for no reason, it relects on them not on you. For example, if someone calls a woman a whore and a slut, it is their own mouth and mind that they are dirtying. Tehy are only telling you that they don't respect women, which is to their own discredit. Because prostitutes deserve as much respect as anyone else. So be strong, believe in yourself, and never take seriously the words of people whose intention is only to hurt you - you can easily tell them apart from those that hurt you unintentionally, or just in anger.
It gets easier with practice!
Good luck!

I used to get hurt too. But I have learnt to be strong now and these statements helps me to be strong and ignore the mean remarks of anybody and maintain my calmness and goodness. And i really hope it will help you too.. All the Best!

To have confidence in yourself.

"When I am right, why should I get hurt and suffer because of those who are wrong n on top of that they are gettting least affected by what i got hurt??"

see if this helps:

"why should i get hurt n suffer when i din't do anything wrong?"

"and look at that mean person - he's least affected by being mean and the only one who is suffering is me.. n so i will not suffer"

"God will take care of such mean people Himself, i should just keep my calmness and ignore the wrong words"

"mean remarks of others cant effect me, I know i am good. "

"Seriously i need to be selfish for myself, i will not suffer because of wrong things n wrong words of others"

take care

Avoid mean people if you can, and if you can't, ignore what they say. Don't give their words power in you life. For them to hurt you, you have to give them the power. Don't assume that what they say is right.

Stand up to them or treat them the way they treat you. This has worked for me a couple of times and it stopped. I know two wrongs don't make a right but it seemed to work.

Don't let them. It's all mental, and you either give them the power to do so or just ignore them.

YOU HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO LET IT ROLL OFF YOUR BACK. IF THEY ARE MEAN TO YOU JUST FOR THE SAKE OF BEING MEAN, THEY WILL GET IT BACK ONE DAY AND MAYBE YOU WILL GET THE SATISFACTION OF BEING THERE TO POINT AND LAUGH!!!! DON' T TAKE THINGS SO SERIOUSLY. WHO CARES WHAT THEY THINK.
