Wireframe Artists?

I have a project in Art class where we have to make a sculpture, i plan on doing wireframe, but i also need a "mentor" for me to get ideas from, so anyway

Any famous sculptors that specialize is wireframe?

still don't know what subject to do, but likely a figurine or something space/sci-fi related, so any artists specializing in those would be good.

This is just the media i'll likely stick with, cause i don't wanna do clay again (though that did turn out good, might do a blend of both)

Alexander Calder would be a place to start.

If you are a beginner don't limit yourself to one media. If you are intrested in study the figure i would suggest Giacometti because is rather spindly figures can easily translate into wire.
