There are tons of varieties of bamboo, and I would certainly include one or two.

Rather depends on what kind of space you have available as to what type you choose. Running bamboos can really take over a huge area in just a few years. Clumping types are much tamer.

If you live near Dallas, visit the arboretum there. It's fantastic all over, but they have an area dedicated just to bamboos.
