Essentially it will not hurt your computer. But I would advise to turn off your computer once in a while, to allow it to cool off. You also have to consider the CMOS battery and fans in the casing. They both do tend too wear off quickly.

We operate servers and workstations for years without powering down. My Linux workstation has run for most of the last two years and shows no sign of issues. A power outage often causes one of them to fail. Startup events actually cause faults. The point above about fans is well made though. Some PC manufacturers use very cheap fans on the motherboard, I had to replace one 40mm fan in under a year on a home machine that was only run a few hours each night.

leaving it on all the time tends to wear out the fans ect faster also causes the buildup of dust you should get a can of air about 6 bucks at wallmart turn off your pc and blow out the dust pay carefull attention to the fans
and i wouldnt let it go into sleep mode either my suggestion is turn it on in the morning and turn it off at night when you go to bed
if your going to be gone for a while then turn off the monoter

No, it will not hurt your computer, but it would save on electricity, if you turn your screen off. The screen uses the most electricity, of all the compoments. Lots of people leave their computer on all the time..
