Yes, I've seen that list compiled before. I personally would like to add that 42 is the Answer to Life, The Universe and Everything.
Man, I wish I was in the mental hospital w/ Hurley when he got those #'s from that patient. Maybe I could have gotten the guy to tell me what they mean

That scene with Hurley travelling to the airport features all the numbers. And they crop up all over the place, e.g. Kate is given up by the Aussie farmer for $16,000, all the cop cars in "Two for the Road" spell the numbers out, Desmond's cuppa was $4 and he needed $42,000 for a boat.
They are the core numerical values of the Valenzetti Equation which predicts "the number of years before humanity drives itself to extinction." The aim of the Hanso Foundation was to change these values.
Everyone on the island was sold to the Hanso Foundation's by their fathers' and the numbers are being used as some sort of code to say "transaction accepted".
