Empty it as much as possible if it's a large model, tilt the top back, slide an old blanket well under the front, tilt front top forward and wiggle some blanket below the back feet. Now you can slide it around the floor without damage.
OR
If it has plastic feet, spray polish on the floor around the feet and it will slide, but go easy!!

Most Hardware or home centers have sets of strips with nylon wheels that are made for this purpose.
1- You are going to have to slide out the fridge a couple of inches so you can tilt it back to start the wheeled strips under.
2- Ease the fridge out about 12" more, tilt it way back and the strips should go almost all the way under.
3- It will have the fridge mostly on the strips and should roll easily.
4- It will take two people at least to do this.
Problem - If you are finicky - even these wheels will slightly groove a hardwood floor.
Place a 4x8 ft sheet of masonite under the whole thing and that can be slid quite a distance.

Carefully lift each leg and slip a cardboard square or some carpet fuzzy side toward the floor underneath. (Do the two or three corners you can reach then try to lean the fridge a bit so the others do not drag as you remove the fridge, however damage under the fridge may be impossible to avoid BUT you can fix it up and it doesn't matter if the color is perfect because who sees under the fridge, you just want to ensure it is water resistant
For the future you may wish to invest in a fridge tray, this sits under the fridge to catch any water leakage that may happen. Be sure to get one where the bottom of the tray will not damage the floors. Or put felt/cork etc on the bottom of the tray youself. They fridge tray will also help distribute the weight to prevent denting the floor over time.
You can get trays for your dishwasher as well, if you have one. They come in standard sizes. I believe most appliance stores carry them, though you may need to order it in.

Use a dolly- a kind of 2-wheeled cart with a small shelf that you can slide under a heavy object, then tilt back to lift it. Make sure you have someone to help you keep your refridgerator steady.
Good luck!

The best way is to get a piece of Masonite...Cardboard will crush under the weigh and may still score the wood...Carpet...well ever try to roll a Frig over carpet...After you have moved the frig there are these tracks you can get to secure to the floor so the firg rolls on them for easier cleaning. or cut a piece of masonite to fit under the frig after you clean .....

get some old soft clothes and put them under the feet of the refrigerator and slide it to the door. They make things just for this but an old sweatshirt would do.
