My stock Ipod buds have blown out. I'm using an old pair of Walkman head phones which are a pain as they have the rung that goes over the dome of your head. I just want the buds.

Any suggestions? I want really inexpensive (ie under $50)

I have bought 8 sets of ear buds (because I have a severe hearing loss --- especially in the bass frequencies. The best I have found is made by Sony and sold at Wal-Mart for $5.95 with a frequency response from 10 Hz to 20 KHz. The improved bass really is noticeable. For $1. more, they sell a model with a wire loop which fits over the back of your ear, and the ear buds swivel in or out as you desire. This relieves the strain of the wires pulling on your ears. You don't have to remove the ear buds to talk on the phone or carry on a conversation -- it is also safer while driving a car to swing one or both ear buds out of the way. Since all the data from both channels is on the LEFT channel, swing out the RIGHT ear bud if you don't want to miss any music.

I just bought some JVC ear bud headphones from EBay for only $1.35-- plus $2.50 shipping. They sound great and have a "gummy" ring (I think it's silicone) around the speakers that are soooo very comfortable in the ear!
I'd try EBay- there are a lot of headphones to choose from!!
Good luck and have a great day!!!

I don't quite remember the official name...I think it's GUM?
They are made by JVC...HA-F120 and they are available in about 10 different colours. I think they cost $20 or so. Have had my pair for almost a year and they still sound great and my husband the Geek owns 3-4 pair and swears by them.
