1965-1975, better music and more recognized artists came out of these ten years than any other.
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
The Who
The Temptations
Otis Redding
Janis Joplin
Jimi Hendrix
The Doors
Led Zeppelin
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Hank Williams Jr.

I coudn't decide on a decade, the same way I can never decide on a band.
The only way to truly appreciate is to open your mind to every genre from every artist of every age. From the very oldest pieces of properly recorded music to todays releases there have been a selection of gifted and inspired works produced by a vast array of artists that will live forever, they'll be covered but the originals will rarely be surpassed.
Then there is the cr@p that's left, just soul-less noise created by and for people with more 'image' and 'brand loyalty' than taste.
Westlife will cover everything eventually anyway..............

You would probably have to say the 50's as that's when it all started to kick off. They invented rock 'n roll and that kind of lead to most of what we hear now.
But personally, I love the late 80's/early 90's - maybe you just always love the music from a particular time in your life. The time when you discovered music for yourself and for me that was baggie and the whole Madchester scene.

I LOVE music from the 80's! Even stuff from the early 90's. The music was so much fun and so energetic. Who could not get up and dance when Duran Duran or Wham came on?!
