to charge it? I would want to be able to plug it in when I am at home to save the battery. What are they called (the plug or charger I need)?

Yes, and they all come with a battery. I had a compaq presario notebook, that cost me $1,500...

It didn't work when i received it. I sent it back, and it was returned in working condition. 3 months later the actual battery in it died. I had it fixed at no expense to me. Then the battery charger (what you call the cable) died, and I had to send it in again. Then my graphics card broke and it was after warranty, and it over heated.

DONT get a compaq.

all laptops want charger t ocharge laptop battery ok .
the name of the charger is called as adapter. if u want to buy that adapter first u want to note the model name of ur laptop and u ask the hp store in ur near area if u r in dubai i send for u my friend this is my no if ur in dubai call me 00971505671076. i am working as a sales and service so only i give my no .dont think anything wrong my friend

if your buying from the store it is a standard item they come with. you might have to either get a wireless card for it or a cable for the internet connection. check all your options out before you buy it and shop around for the best deal

they come with a power cord that charges the battery when you plug it into the wall
