If this facility is available we can save on EB bill ...& time........Only when we need a particular programme can we switch the TV.....is not it a good idea......?

Friend,
It is possible but extremely difficult to execute .We have to make certain hardware changes in the TV circuit .The combined reciever thats accepts both audio and video signals has to differentiated .Being a hardware developer I know how tricky this is .So at present this technique is not cost effective .But your idea is good and I hope in the future we might realise your idea turned into a reality.

Cable is a service but is not like your lights. With a light, you pay only for the power you use. With cable you pay to have it on,, whehter you use it or not. Switching out the signals will not save you money on usage.
