Playoff system works in other divisions so it would work in Div I-A. Just follow the system that works in other divisions. Until you have a playoff you will always have an argument about what team is the best in any given year. Although the BCS conferences will not agree to a playoff system due to money it is a nice thought.

I agree with all of what you said except that the playoff should only be 8 teams. This way, one's won-loss record would count the most against a stronger schedule than the Notre Dame's of the world playing three or four tough games a year and whining about their 11-1 record! If the best records against the toughest schedules are allowed in, then even Louisville and WVU would have a chance in the playoff I propose because of them playing each other during the season! At least they're not playing the service academies and the Sun Belt or something like that.....

I think College football needs a playoff system. Right now it seems to be all about the money. These BCS conferences are making too much off the bowl games to want a playoff system. Until someone can figure out a way to determine how many teams should be involved and how each team is to qualify for the playoffs, there is too much to lose for the BCS conferences.

Besides NCAA consistent 119 D1 groups does D2 even have a university playoff procedure? I real suppose this could make groups larger and quit beating at the little colleges each yr. This is the superb time for them to be gambling and be completed by way of Jan. after that they will have to award any trophys to the exceptional avid gamers like they constantly do.

In my opinion, college football is about the tradition, pageantry, sportsmanship, and school pride. That is the main reasons for college sports, and that is provided by the bowl system. A playoff system makes these take a back seat to the priority of knowing who's number 1. I think the main priority of college sports shouldn't be who's number 1, but for the reasons I listed above. If you want to watch a league, where being number 1 is a priority, then watch the NFL.

I would love a playoff system, but here's the problem. the reason they HAVE what they do is this: too many teams! too many teams would get scammed in this, and even if they did have a playoff system that was fair, there would be way too many teams and it would take way too long! but i would like them to figure something else out.
