Toyota or General Motors? Why?

First, let me say that:

I Love America.

But I want to see America win the auto game on quality and design.

Bottom line for me, Toyota beats the pants off of any US auto maker in quality in the surveys (JD Power and Consumer Reports). US automakers seem to be playing the "me too" game when it comes to the stats that consumers care about: quality, fuel efficiency, and safety.

Honda: same story as Toyota. And here comes Hyundai, climbing in the surveys, and offering *attractive* warranties and support.

Buick makes some handsome cars and Pontiac has some slick designs, but long-term quality scares me off.

Although Toyota is a Japanese brand, GM has the same relationship with toyota that mazda has with ford (ford owns 34% of mazda). If you look at the chevy prizm, it is the exact same car as a toyota corolla. Same with the pontiac vibe and the toyota matrix.
Over the years, American vehicles have gotten a bad rap. They are said to be un-reliable and un-safe. This is not necessarily true anymore. In the 1980s, American vehicles were switching most of their sedans to front wheel drive. Japan had already started doing this. When making such a conversion, there will of course be some kind of kinks. 20 years later though, they have ironed out most of them, and they are back on top of things.

No. financial disaster under financial disaster 13 is what i might like to work out. After financial disaster is asserted, all contracts are null and void. this might provide the vehicle makers a clean slate with the union. The unions can pass on my own or pass artwork at Burger KIng. A restructure dealt with completely by potential of the indoors maximum sector could be the greater ideal long term answer. Loans of any type will in easy terms drag out the suffering, for possibly 2 years then it quite is precise returned to the place we are actually.

No Brainer here... Toyota... its a pretty general question but all around Toyota is ranked outstanding on every model.

Look and see when Toyota last produced a loser quarter or year in revenues.. GM consistantly loses money..

If your into that whole buy American crap then go for GM...

However, I saw buy the BEST product... and Toyota makes a better product!

I've owned a 5 year old Camry and then brand new Alero, lets just say that I will never own GM again after all the problems I delt with. More problems with a BRAND NEW GM, than an old toyota!

Buy a GM...if you ever do need service...the parts will be a LOT cheaper than Toyota. My brother found that out. If you take it to Hamburg, PA...my husband can work on it too. He is one of the top 100 mechanics in the country. See I'm a little biased

Toyota. WHY? Because, initially, they put quality above profit. That is slowly changing, as stockholders demand ever increasing profits, but they are STILL WAY WAY ahead of G.M.
