Take a look at my trip itinerary on yahoo! travel http://travel.yahoo.com/trip?pid=416269&action=view

We were there for a few days in May 2006 and had a wonderful time. We did some on foot, and we also hired a driver for a day. For the 7 of us we paid 100 USD for 12 hours, and that included the van!

Also, the hotel we stayed at looked out on the Petronas Towers, and was right next to the MRT station. It was inexpensive, and I'd say it was 4 stars by US standards.
