Here are some cute and inexpensive last-minute costume ideas:

-Go as a present--cut holes in a large box (two for arms, one on top for the head and leave the bottom open). Wrap it up like a present and use a bow (bobby-pin it) on the top of the head.

-Another cheap idea is to find any kinds of ear/tail kits (usually around $4 or five dollars). You can match your clothing to whatever animal kit you get. (Example: black cat: black pants, shirt, etc.)

-Ghosts are ALWAY simple with a white sheet, etc.

-Another GREAT place to check are Goodwills, Salvation Armies, etc.

A ghost: Grab a old white sheet, cut out the eyes. Be sure its is short enough not to trip you. Take scrap piece of sheet, and sew up a simple treat bag. & you can dress it up. Add eye shadow and lashes around the eyes. Lipstick for the mouth. Put a little color on the cheeks. How about earrings and a necklace
Clown: Sweet clothes that are too large. Decorate by using either fabric paint, or markers. For those who dare try tie-die. Tack on some large pop-poms, add a cheap wig, hat, and make-up. You may also stuff the extra space in clothing with tissue. However this could be messy, if you need to make a "pit-stop".

Zombie: all you'll need is some face paint (for black eyes, stitches, and pale grey skin), hairspray and flour for a ratted grey pony tail, and some clothes in not-too-good condition from the second-hand store. An old prom dress would be perfect.

Socialite: for this one you will need gigantic sun glasses, a large purse (preferably designer knock-off) and a puppy (a stuffed animal toy is most practical - it won't need to "be walked"). Oh yes, and attitude!

Greek Goddess: Think toga, but very elegant. You will need several yards of OPAQUE white fabric (or a bed sheet), gold tone rope for a belt, and gold tone leaves for the head dress. You should be able to find all of these things at your local craft or fabric store. Be sure to put her hair up w/ lots of curls!
