Yes, it is allowed; however, very rare. You have to have good reason.
The 3 times divorce thing has a reason behind it. You can verbally get divorced up to 3 times, after that, if you want to still be together, the woman has to get married to another man, sleep with him, and then she can come back to her husband. I know it sounds weird, but that is only to control the man from casually throwing around the word "divorce" to his wife unless he really means it. When he knows that his wife will be with someone else, he will not abuse the control that he has.

i am muslim.
only one person should have the control of the divorce. either the man or the woman which called "Isma". and yes there are muslims who get divorce, and there is law for this.
you either divorce them with kindness, or stay with them in kindness, and don't hurt them.
[229] The divorce is twice, after that, either you retain her on reasonable terms or release her with kindness......"

Yes and under Muslim law the woman has few rights. In USA our laws would give the woman rights the religion doesn't.

No panacea, they dont cut off other people's heads n neither do they run off like people in america that just leave without telling. They divorce with mutual consent when necessary.

you bet they do.
since women are aware of their rights they are dragging men to court........Isalm had given them this right but cultures of different societies wouldn't let them to go to court.
men had ruled over them so far .but time has changed.....men and women do divorce if they do not get along
