I'd say once a child is in middle school they are too old to trick-or-treat so about 12-13. You are never to old to dress up and celebrate, the candy is for the kids though not the teens; they can just go to the store and buy some or have a party.

You are never too old to dress up and celebrate Halloween, however after about age 15 or 16 trick or treating is a little lame.
Time to find a party and leave the candy for the little kids.

No such age limit! Ive seen adults having a fun time trick or treating! its the one time out of the year to be yourself, have fun dressing up, being goofy and getting treat after Treat!
I believe there are so many that would love to trick or treat, yet are holding back, because of age. How boring! Get out there, and trick or treat, unashamed. Everyone is a lil kid at heart!

My parents let me go Trick Or Treating until I no longer wanted to wear a costume. I think kids get to an age when they start feeling weird dressing up and going to peoples doors to ask for candy. I think I was 17 before I quit going but I always had to take my sister who is 12 years younger than me. I use to tell my mom I didn't want to dress up I just wanted to go get candy and she said that if I was too old for a costume then I was too old for trick or treating.

hmmm.
I thought my son was getting too old... he will be 12 next week. BUT I drove my neighbours highschool daughter to school the other day, and she is trick or treating this year with her friends! They are about 16 years old!!!!!!!!!
Guess there is no age limit.... BUT wouldn't older kids (13 plus) find better things to do? Maybe get a 'haunted house' put together in the family garage with a bunch of friends! they can 'spook' all the lil goblins... and still be participating in a very fun day of the year!

As long as they still want to dress up and trick or treat.
I hate when older kids come with no costume and trick or treat. Its like give me free candy, which is what its about to a point but dressing up is the real fun.
So as long as you dress up, no age limit.

We trick or treated in college. :) But only around the dorms and frat/sorority houses. There is no age limit when it comes to having a good time.

Umm... When you have a house or appartment to give out candy at, you should stop trick-or-treating. I went last year, and had a blast! This year, I've decorated and am dressing up to hand out candy to the kiddies. Why should you stop in the teenage years? That's the best time to go with friends and have fun!

I think a kid should be able to go till theyre 17 or 18.. If theyre still in school, they should go and have a blast. My son is 14, and hes still going with all his friends. Halloween is for the kids. Let them have fun! When the adults come to the door with their kids, I even give THEM a treat too. lol
