Hello - Honey, anything is possible, but if you are passing large clots of blood, than you need to call your Dr. That isn't normal, wether its a miscarriage or not. I hope its not, but you really should be checked. If you opt not to see a Dr., and try the home pregnancy tests, you need to read the boxes carefully before you purchase, they will tell you on the box if its worth you spending your money on it. Good luck -

Save your pregnancy test for your next cycle. It would make no difference now. As early as it is, if you were pregnant, your body would properly dispose of the embryo (not a fetus yet) through your cycle. Women often miscarry and never know they actually conceived. Any blood that may get into the urine stream could create a "FALSE" positive. Giving you false hope that your egg may or may not have been fertilized.
Your cycles can change in volume at any point in your life.
I passed clots and had cramps so bad that I'd be doubled over in bed, throughout most of my life. Clots so heavy that I had to change both a pad and tampon on average about every hour. Doctor said it was just normal for since my iron and blood levels didn't decrease do to my period. So women unfortunately have this problem. And sometimes it does mean that you've had a miscarriage.

Honey I am sorry to say that it sounds like you are having a very early miscarriage. It is of course too soon to know for sure but it does sound that way. The spotting that you had three weeks ago makes me think of the spotting that can occurr when the ovum burrows down into the lining of the uterus.
If it is not normal for you to pass large clots ( for some women it is) then that is another sign.
It is just too early to say for sure dear. If however the bleeding becomes profuse or you are in severe pain you should call a doctor or go to the ER.
I would not bother doing a test. It is possible that you might have enough HCG in your system to make the test positive but it would not change what is happening.
Take care honey and I am sorry.
Goddess Bless

If it's a miscarriage then don't worry about it physically, your body will take care of it itself because you're not far enough along. I will tell you, however, that the bleeding doesn't necessarily mean you're still not pregnant. I bled the first 3 months of my pregnancy from "old blood" that was still milling around. At times it was heavy and clotted too but I still had a regular, healthy pregnancy. I'd wait until the bleeding stopped and then take a test.

I'm thinking no...my period is different EVERY month..sometimes it's heavier and other times lighter and barely a period at all...testing now wouldn't do you any good...but upset you...THe body flushes out the lining of the uterus and it probably just flushed out bigger pieces...
