For instance, if your bf or husband lost all his money, would you still "love" him? What if after that, he lost his leg and vision, would you still "love" him? How about if he suddenly got Alzheimer's, would you still "love" him?

Of course I would.

When we married, it was with the understanding that we'd stick together for better or worse.

We've been through bankruptcy, and my husband is 60% disabled related to his military service. I didn't run out then, and I don't intend to start thinking of it now.

Of course, I've had some advantages that have prepared me for adversity, such as trying to raise a couple of kids with no help from their father, financially or emotionally, while at the same time putting myself through school. I didn't have support from my own family, either, because they were all as broke as I was.

The good thing about going through hard times is that it gives you the assurance that, if you did it once, you can do it again. Besides, "Love is not love which alters/When it alteration finds." I believe it was Robert Browning who said that, and I agree with it.

If my bf/husband had lost all of his money, yes I would still love him, if he lost his leg and vision, yes I would love him, and if he suddenly got alzheimers, most deffinetly would I still love him, if someone could suddenly fall out of love because he lost all of these things, then its not love, love is taking the good with the bad. Like when you take your wedding vows, you devote all these things to him: For richer or poorer in sickness and in health, and so on. Thats when you know that love exsists, your still being there, even if these things happen=-)

Yeah the absolute worst thing about love is how it completely robs you of your ability to make what would otherwise be "rational thoughts."

Case in point, I come from a small family, I'm an only child and I have always wanted to have a really nice size family of kids, and I don't mean adoption. A few years ago I met a girl who I totally fell for, but and due to medical issues she can't have kids of her own. I could just leave her and find a girl who could have kids but suddenly I realize I don't want to have kids unless they are with her, suddenly adoption does not seem so bad.

Love makes no sense, but when you have it suddenly it is the only thing that matters.

Yes, there is such a thing as love. However, science today is trying to prove that it is just a chemical reaction in the brain, one that can be faked with other chemicals and such. Its really quite sad. But yes, love does exsist, not in a chemical form, but as a powerful agent that stops the pain in this world. You could also ask yourself, Is there such thing as hate? If not, then there can be no love.

yes love does exists most people think it is in money, sex drugs, prostitutes, but if you want true love you have to look deep in your heart to know that it is there. most people get married when they say they are in love but after they are married they realize it was a mistake. you have to look at your heart to see if that one person is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with or else you could throw your life away on somethng so fake that you thoght was real
