I am hoping to find a ground cover or a flower carpet, you know with a flower pattern which is ready to be planted and all I will need to do is to plant them and just water them so that the flowers will grow in the desired pattern. i hope I have been able to explain what i mean. Is there anywhere I could buy something like that?

If you purchase flats of ground cover, you will have to arrange the "pattern" yourself. If you are looking for a "carpet" which is already infused with the flowers, fertilizer and growing medium, check out QVC. They sell a roll out fiber that can be cut to fit beds, boxes or whatever area you wish to plant it. They have several depending on the location (shade, indirect light, full sun) and what type of flowers (color, height) you desire. And, literally, you simply roll them out, water and they grow. You can also check out the As seen on TV website as there was an informercial advertising a roll out flowering carpet . I cannot speak as to the success you will have with it, however.

Verbena, Phox are a great ground cover. One planted, water every other day until the plants are extablished. Then water about once a week. Exspecially during the dry periods in the Summer.
After the Verbena dyes out, don't break off the branches. These plants do come back year after year. So, you don't ned to replant them unless of course the plants dye. Keep a close watch on the plants to see if they come back.
Then just enjoy the beauty of them, they also attracts butterflies. Hope this helps answering your question.

Where do you live? It is almost impossible to answer your questiojn if I dont know your climate. If you are talking now and you are in a four season state, it is probably too late to plant. Creeping phlox is good for what you are trying to do. These plants come in a vareity of colors and are usually ready to go right into the ground when purchased. Also, sign up to receive seed and garden catalogues. You will get lots of descriptions and pictures. Try Springhill, Gurnee's, ...get on one mailing list and you will begin to get them all.

Ground cover is available in "flats" approximately 24" X 24" at nurseries and home improvement centers. Hope that helps you.
