you can get combat roach gel for the roaches, it's expensive for the little tube it comes in, but works fast and keeps them away. I use Ortho for ants, putting in corners inside (I don't have small children though, so you could put some in foil paper and put in corners of cabinet. The ortha also works for roaches and other critters if you don't have a bad infestation. Also put the ortho around the house and on any ant hills outside. the lizards I'm not sure, and I hope I never have to find out first hand.
good luck

Try to keep everything clean. If not, they'll just keep coming back. Use Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Duo as a cleaning tool for walls, cabinets, floors, and even kitchen tiles. You may also visit this site http://www.upkb.com/mrclean.phpfor cleaningtips and product details.

buy bug bombs to set off. u will have to remove plants, animals and ppl for a few hrs. and then clean counter tops, etc when getting back in house. as well as airing it out for a bit when entering.
other than that an exterminator would have to do his thing

get rid of any food that is laying out, dog/cat food. secure your garbage can lids tight.
personally i would welcome any lizards, they would act as a natural pest repellent.
