Literally, it's the area right behind your ankle. Figuratively, it is your weekness, the thing that does you in. Named afer Achilles, whose mother dipped him in sacred water, but missed the part on his foot, making him vulnerable in that spot, which is how he died. My Achilles Heel is my son. I'd do anything for him.

An Achilles’ heel is a fatal weakness in spite of overall strength, actually or potentially leading to downfall. While the mythological origin refers to a physical vulnerability, metaphorical references to other attributes or qualities that can lead to their downfall are common.

Origin
In the myths surrounding the Trojan War, Achilles died from a heel wound as the result of an arrow fired by Paris.

According to a myth arising later, his mother, Thetis, had dipped the infant Achilles in the river Styx, holding onto him by his heel, and he became invulnerable where the waters touched him -- that is, everywhere but the areas covered by her thumb and forefinger -- implying that only a heel wound could have been his downfall.

The use of “Achilles’ heel” (or “Achilles tendon”) as an English expression for “area of weakness, vulnerable spot” dates only to 1855 (Merriam-Webster).

The Achilles’ heel as a singular weakness is a cliche in superhero comics, most famously Superman’s weakness against Kryptonite

You don't actually have a achilles heel, but you have an achilles tendon, it's that long tendon along the back of your ankle that makes your foot move up and down.

Has to do with Greek Mythology. As a gift from the god's Achille was to be invulnerable. When, as a baby, he was put thru the steps to achieve his invincibility, his mother held him by the heel. Hence that area was his only week spot. Neat story - you should read it.

It's the Tendon on the back of your foot, in Mythology, Achilles was submerged into a river to make him invinceable, but the place where the gods held him was the tendon on the back of his foot which kept that part of his body from becoming invinceable, hence his weekness. He was only vulnerable at this tendon, that's why we call it the Achilles Tendon.

a weakness
reference is to The Iliad by Homer where Achilles was invulnerable except for his heel. This was because he was dipped in the river Styx by his mother when a child. She held him by the heel - thus his only weakness. Guess what - he died.
