I really am interested in making candles but I want them to be good candles. How do I learn to do this and is it expensive to get started?

Check out the candle cocoon! This gal is awesome and VERY helpful. I make soap but have branched into soy tarts. I've ordered from her once but she was very helpful!

The first thing I would suggest you do ,is to buy a candle making kit. See if you really are going to enjoy doing them. If you wish to continue with this craft, get a good instruction book. It will tell you everything you need to know. Remember first you have to crawl, then walk before you can run. Don't spend the money on equipment until you have acquired the skills needed to use it.

Use Pringle cans (eliminate the steel rim), juice or milk cartons and Planters snack cans for molds. you'll be able to might desire to buff the candle when you're taking it out of the mildew with a delicate textile (previous nylons paintings great). there are various straightforward concepts for candle making. Craft shops and libraries have books with training.
