I would contact a lawyer!

Some things are better left to professionals & when it comes to having your children or not, I would prefer to put that in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing!

Good Luck!

when i had to file for custody i had to go to juvenile court get a packet fill it out a few things had to be signed by a notary it was 150.00 to file here in Ohio last year. The packet was about 8 - 10 pages. You should call your court house they can even mail it to you. i thought the papers were VERY SIMPLE i needed no help filing. but i had no one contesting the custody the papers where just names address ss #'s reason for filing and general crap i don't see that one would need a lawyer unless you had someone not in agreement with you.

i'm assuming you are the daddy? you probable won't get finished custody and might desire to be paid baby help. If the two mom and dad are greater healthy, the mum is given universal custody or mom and dad split custody 50/50. usually, the courts won't furnish custody to the daddy till the mum is undeserving or would not choose for her infants in her custody. there is fairly no thank you to flow approximately this without an lawyer.

Ugh, I went through all that and I did it the wrong way. I went in to see a paralegal and had her draw up some paperwork. I thought that would be the way to go and they could serve him. In the end it would have been better for me to go directly to a lawyer and have her go through all the personal ins and outs with me and then have HER draw up the paperwork. I didn't go to a lawyer to be mean and nasty but to make sure I had all my ducks in a row. It's smart and it'll save you some time. A paralegal, to me, didn't seem to really know how to draw up paperwork to benefit me or my situation. But my lawyer knew how to take care of all that and we were able to come up with an agreement that was much more suited for me and the kids' dad. Good luck!

I hate to say it,,,but, you need to hire a lawyer.
In most states, you have to file so much paperwork through the court system that a lay person can not do it alone.
Good Luck

It would depend on what state you are in but a good start is your town's family court. There are forms to fill out along with a fee. It gets complicated depending on the circumstances. My husband is going thru the very same thing now with his ex girlfriend.

Consult www.canada.gc.ca, the government of Canada Website, even you are not from Canada and from the U.S the laws are very similar. I'm sure the U.S or wherever you are has a section on divorce on the countires website.

You need to go to your local court house and go to one of their self help classes they will tell you exactly what paper work you need to file. Or if you can afford it go to a para legal to help you fill out the paper work. you want to do this right and not make any mistakes it is very important don't try and do it yourself.

Each state is different. Get the help of an attorney or a paralegal.
