Comments:
1) Republicans have had a lot of success in the South in recent years, but this is a reversal of a long-standing trend earlier in the 20th Century.
2) Republicans in general tend to favor state & local government over the national government, but to say they "are more interested in" local issues is probably a stretch.
3) Both parties probably believe in a strong national government to a similar extent, although Democrats in general more often favor a national-government "solution" to key political issues, while Republicans generally see the national government more as the "solution of last resort."
4) True statement.

5) None of the above

The only difference between Democrats and Republicans is that one group has more money and lust for power than the other. There is no right answer.

As far as I can see the only difference in the two parties is none. Both parties are so interested in keeping there jobs they have forgotten how to do them. There Hatfield and McCoy attitude toward each other is going to destroy this country, and for reasons I do not understand nobody seems to care we just keep reelecting the same ones back in power. The American people are being taking for a ride and don't seem to care.

Democrats - narrow minded, their thinking is kinda up in the clouds, they want impossible things e.g. for troops in Iraq to come home right now, this very second...GET REAL, they have a job to do. They are so far up their own asses its unbelievable.

Republicans - realists, they think about whats going on in the world and in the U.S. Economy and try to deal with it now.

From an economic point of view Democrats are Keynesions and Republicans are Free market economists.

5) NONE OF THE ABOVE.

Republicans believe in and trust the INDIVIDUAL.

Democrats feel that the GOVERNMENT can do things better then you can. (Including raise your kids).

Republicans... Take a little of my money and do the things I can't do myself like: CIVIL DEFENCE, Local Crime Prevention/fighting.

Democrats: Give us all your money, and we'll take care of you. (we have a governement program for that).

The theory is... lazy people WILL take the DEMS up on it. Heck, if you don't wanna work... there are programs for THAT TOO!

(and all you have to do is VOTE for them!)
