My sister went through the same thing (she has a 5yr old boy,2yr old boy and a 1yr old boy) She potty trained RJ (2yr old) with cherrio's! She put them in the toilet and had him "aim" for the hole's :) Worked great! She was nursing Logan (1yr old) and RJ was the same as Lil Patrick (5yrs old) had to be completly naked! But she asked him BEFORE she would start nursing...hunny do you have to potty? It worked like a charm! Good luck to you :)

Consider moving the potty chair into whatever room he is playing in.

Keep him in as little clothing as possible. (One reason summer is a good time to teach potty skills!) Just a pullup or underwear.

Wear baby in a sling part of the day so you can nurse while being up and moving around.

Make sure you are asking him about once an hour if he needs to go to the bathroom. Maybe you can head off some interruptions that way.

Be patient.

If you have to put the baby down sometimes, talk to him while you are in the next room. Or carry baby with you. Put a little stool by the bathroom door that you can sit on and nurse if you need to do so sometimes while you wait on big brother.

It takes as long as it takes. Some kids might take a week. Others might take a year. No real way to tell you how long to expect it to take, as all kids are different. If he initated the idea of using the potty, it will probably take less time. If it was your idea to start potty learning, it may take longer.

My son took 2 weeks to potty train but my daughters took different times so it will be different for each child. Have you tried taking him to the bathroom every hour? I know it sounds like a lot but if you can convince him to use the bathroom (and maybe keep his clothes on) then he will learn how to go on his own. (and when you need him to!) Good luck. I know it's hard.

Maybe it is time to stop nursing. There is a age where it seems a little weird to be sucking the boob
