Ignore this Crosbie person. It seems like she thinks she is perfect or something. It is true that everyone has quirks of some kind.
I actually do have OCD and what I usually do is just organize things so that they are exactly the way I like them. I have to stack books a certain way and make sure they are aligned almost perfectly. I fix items on my dresser several times a day. I have much more serious parts of my OCD, but those are personal. Thanks for the question, though.

I'm the same way about the food labels, in fact, if you were to see my pantry it would look very similar to a grocery store (I like to pull everything to the front of the shelves as well).
I hate even numbers so my TV volume gets set on odd numbers, I set my microwave for an amount of time that is an odd number, when I go on a plane trip I choose odd numbered seats, you get the idea.
I'm a smoker so I have a very precise system for choosing which cigarette to smoke next and I never let anyone go into my pack to get one for themselves. Also, before I can light a cigarette up I have to blow on the end of it.
Before I go to bed every night I do a "house check" where I make sure all the doors are locked, the stove is off, the thermostat is set at a certain temperature, all the lights are off, the cats have enough food and water, the toaster isn't plugged in, etc.
I hate making left hand turns while driving and I'll avoid them at all costs if possible.
When someone is walking next to me on my right side I will move (or move them) so they are on my left side instead.
Seriously, I could name more but I think I've made my point. I'm probably the most OCD person you will ever meet.

I have the volume thing as well! But i have been diagnosed with OCD as i used to organise my life in my head as an itinerary! E.g i used to sit and think and organise all my chores 4 the next month or so ie i need to iron my clothes on Sunday then do housework then eat food then study. Then id do the same for Monday, Tues etc over the month and id go over this exact routine in my head every second of the day until i was physically exhausted to think anymore! This made me depressed and i had more mental illness! Now I'm all better and almost a psychologist but what I'm saying is people have little things they are weird about but OCD is a whole different thing!!

I'm the same way! When I set me alarm it has to be a certain number and the volume on the tv. Like it has to be 5:42 it can't be 5:45, or the volume has to be 26 or 28 etc, it can't be 35, or 37, etc. Also I have to have a certain amount of ice cubes! There are other things but those are a few!!

I love this question! I have a thing with symmetry. All pictures, knick-knacks, ect.. in my home must be hung or placed in a symmetrical manner. If I go to a place with little or no symmetry, I get very uncomfortable. I also cannot grocery shop without a list. The list must be made in the order in which the items are found in the store. I have been known to make several rough drafts of the list before I am satisfied. I also do the toilet paper thing.

If I'm getting a glass of water straight from the tap, I have to rinse it out a certain number of times (even if its brand new and absolutely clean). The number of times is three, but I will go more if I'm not happy with the first three.
If my hands are wet, but everything else is dry I have to dry my hands. This includes doing the washing up, I can only cope for so long before I have to dry my hands. Then I can start again.
I like to think these things are kind of cute and endearing, but I think probably freakish.

I am soooo with you on the labels facing the same way.
My other little quirk is hair in the bathtub. I live alone, so it's only my hair, but I refuse to touch it...Have to wash it down the tub with water.

I have the volume thing on the tv too, as well as funny issues with numbers on digital clocks adding up to certain numbers.
In fact anything to do with numbers and what they add up to - even how many points I have on Yahoo answers!!!!

i like all the CDs in my collection to go in alphabetical order according to artist(i just think it looks better). i like the labels on the tins to always face forward. i like to fix the books on the bookshelf so they go (from left to right) the biggest height to smallest height. i like to have the TVs volume on an even number. i have my alarm go off at 7:23 every morning, oh yeah and i have a bad habit of telling people to cover their mouth when they yawn.
