Square Feet = Length in Feet * Width in Feet

If a room is 10 feet wide and 15 feet long, then:
10 * 15 = 150 square feet

You may want to think about your question and ask it again. I have never heard of the "square root of a room".

i am assuming that you want the square root of the total surface area of a room
if a room's length is l, width is w and height is h
roof and floor area = lw each
two walls would have each an area of hw and the other two walls each an area hl
so total room surface area = 2lw+2hw+2hl =2(lw+hw+hl)
so sq root of a room will be √[2(lw+hw+hl)]

Measure two sides of the room in feet (if the room is rectangular, measure two sides that are touching). Then multiply the two numbers and voila that is your square footage.

Width times depth = area
