I went to court this morning to get child support... my sons father wasnt there--and no one knows where he is. Social services did find him once and now he is no longer there. My caseworker told me this morning that she would try until December to find him and if she doesnt then she is going to dismiss it. How the hell can she do this when i just filed for child support 2 months ago... this was my first court hearing. What can i do to find him>? Please help!!! I know this man is not without a job... its not like him. Social services is just worthless and they have too much on their hands to help people! So please help me... His name is Darren Wayne Horne

seems that the father is worthless, not social services. it's hard to find someone who doesn't want to be found. you should choose your mates more wisely.

Apply for welfare for your children. My daughter was, also, in the same boat. Social Serv ices will not do anything they do not have to do. Social Services kept saying they could not find her ex either though she was giving them his address and place of employment. When she filed for welfare, they had him in jail for back child support within 2 hours. Talk to an agency that deals with "deadbeat parents" If you have his SSN, (should be on tax returns, W-2 forms etc) there are for profit businesses that will help you find him for a percentage of the money they collect.l

I think it depends on the state that you live in. In any case, your state should have a department of child support enforcement (usually falls under department of social services, but not always).

Failing that, you could always apply for food stamps or TANF - the government will make sure they track him down to pay for the benefits that you receive from them.

Do some research on the internet for this. There are groups and other laws according to your state that can help you. I believe this is even a Federal rule now that allows child support to be garnished from across state lines.

File for child support with the welfare system. Tell them you want a medical card, and food stamps to feed your child. In time though your ex husband/boyfriend will owe so much in child support, the only thing that will happen to him, is he'll go to prison, and YOU still wont recieve support.

Is it possible to hire a detective? If not, don't know what you can do.
