Babe19 - can you stop cutting-and-pasting the same F8CKING answers, especially as you never seem to read the questions you are responding to!
And Rafael - rack off with the Linux/Mac crap - that info wan't asked for so keep it to yourself!
Now, to the question at hand, I personally wouldn't use either of those programs. eTrust is pure junk, and Norton is not much better.
Only to AV applications worth using - AVG or Symantec's CORPORATE range (which are available for safe to the home user on-line).
For spyware/malware, I'd recommend Ewido, although AdwareSE (pro version) as an alright second
As extra security methods, update internet explorer to IE7, then tuck away safely and use either Firefox or Opera as your primary browser - most viruses are designed to use IE as their first point of entry, so using Firefox or Opera is an effective means of keeping that door closed :)

You can't totally block someone from getting into your machine nor can you totally prevent viruses. I run Norton Anti virus, Spybot and Adaware. I also have my windows xp firewall activated. The key is watching where you go on the net. What you have should be fine. Your antivirus should be set to update automatically, check your settings in the program to be sure. I recommend getting Norton Antivirus for future use.

Use any one program in one category. If you do not have time limited trial version of the above said program then it should be good enough. Protection depends on your browsing habits and the value of your transaction. You should be really careful if you are using credit cards or online banking.
If you have the latest windows on your computer then it has built in firewall. Look in start > control panel > firewall. Turn in ON. Then look for security center. See if the Auto update of windows is ON. Then download windows defender from microsoft. They allow it only to purchased windows software users.
You can also install a free mcafee browser plugin for your browser. It helps you to identify safe and unsafe sites.
This is the minimum that you can do for a start.

You should also have a firewall, and an anti adware. You already have an anti virus and an anti spyware; a firewall helps to stop stuff getting on your pc in the first place.
You need to install one firewall.
The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out. Both these firewalls are free for personal use and stop unwanted incoming and outgoing traffic.

http://www.mozilla.com/ Firefox web browser
http://www.opera.com/ Opera web browser
Instal both these web browsers, turn off javascript on one and use that browser for vising unknown websites. They don't support Active X so thats one less way for problems to get on your pc.

And these are useful utilities;

Winpatrol is a handy utility that tracks cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

http://www.siteadvisor.com -Site Advisor warns about malware on sites you are about to visit.
Remember to update and run all of you anti malware programs at least once a week.
Windows usually wanrs you if you don't have a firewall, to tell which one you're using open the Control Panel and go to the security center. It should be listed in there.

These should be enough, the firewall in norton is called internet worm protection. That should be enough secruity especially if you don't use programs like Kazaa or any other heavy spyware websites.

Anti virus normally update themselves if you are connected to the net. I have f-secure. It has a anti-virus and on my desktop I use their firewall too. That is better it alerts me to data out as well as data in - so I can stop Windows Media player accessing the net, spy ware and viruses "phoning" home! I only have XP firewall on the laptop and a virus got past that already.
