Yes, several of my friends at their funerals. They all looked just like they were only taking a peaceful nap....but in a coffin.
The last dead person I saw was my husband of 22 years who died on Oct. 9 two years ago. My last memory of him was seeing him lying peacefully in the hospital bed looking as if he was asleep. He died from complications of several conditions he developed from cigarette smoking.
He had no funerary arrangements made and I couldn't afford to pay for any. So it took a little bit more time than I would have liked to give him a proper burial. His brother-in-law wound up paying for my husband's cremation.
On Oct. 30, 2004 I LITERALLY had to bury his ashes MYSELF in a plot that his parents left behind when they moved out of state, died and were buried in their new state of residence. The caretaker dug the hole and then took off!!! There were other people roaming the cemetery when I had gotten done lowering the box into the hole and saying some prayers (I couldn't even get a Minister to come out to do that!). Because my husbands ashes were contained in a corrugated box measuring 8x8x8 and I didn't want the open grave disturbed, I covered it over myself.
I miss my husband terribly and find it especially fitting that I can honor his memory on Halloween as that is when I buried him.
The WORST thing I ever saw was not near Halloween but it is extrememly macabre!!! I saw a man who had been driving a diesel fuel tanker burn to death on the highway right in front of me. He made the mistake of swerving to try to avoid hitting a car that had cut him off and the tanker rolled and exploded. There was nothing the rescue workers could do for him because the fire was so hot that even though he was some 45 feet from the burning truck he was lying there in the road ahead of me STILL catching on fire!!!! At first when I came up on the accident and the police had us all stop I saw what SEEMED to be debris, but after it caught fire ...once AGAIN!!!... and MOVED I realized it was a PERSON. He died the next day in the hospital. He left a wife and two very young children. It was all over the news.

well, yeah, I've seen dead people. But of course, they were dead when I saw them, not moving around or acting undead. Haven't you ever been to a funeral ; )

Yes, but only at funerals. I remember one for someone related to my mom, and there was my aunt's funeral.
It wasn't that scary.
