You might get the dog wormed. Sometimes if they have worms, they drag there butts, because it itches. Although that doesn't mean the dog does, might just been having a hard time getting it all out and is dragging the butt to help with that.

Sounds like a condition called impacted anal glands. Take your pet to the vet and they can easily solve the problem. This should stop the scooting problem.

Take the dog to the vet- it may have worms or some other intestinal parasite that is irritating its rear end. Its very common for dogs to do that when they have an infection.

He is scratching his butt, has no hands to do it with.
Could be worms, or an anal gland problem. Have a vet check it out.
Until then, save the carpet and give him a hand.
