Don't know. That's a tough question. I guess it would depend on the person first of all. I know some people that can tell you a lie and believe it is true. Then there are those that tell lies to "protect" you from the truth. If I asked someone a question and they lied for any reason my trust in that person will be lessened. Even if they were trying to protect me from something they thought might hurt me. If someone asks me a question I am not obligated to answer. I don't tell the truth but I am not lying either. I guess it would stem back to your faith. Reading the bible I would say that Jesus never lied. He always told the truth or he asked a question in return. So if we are to strive to be like him then lying for any reason is wrong. Hope this helps!

There will be allot of people who say no. But in my opinion, the answer is yes!

I feel that in certain cases, it is actually better to tell a lie then it is to tell thet ruth. There are sometimes in life where as a person with a conscience you need to decide what the results of telling the truth versus the lie will be. I am a firm believer that in certain circumstances, it is far better for the person you are telling the lie too. I know I have a deep dark secret that would tear apart my marriage....does that mean my marriage is based on lies--no, I just had to makke a decision, & I had to weigh out the consequences of telling the truth--did I want to taer out my husbands heart--no, so I live with this lie every day of my life, but to me, it is far better than ripping his heart out of his chest--a decision I made 3 years ago that I don't regret today!

Good Luck!

Sometimes. If someone asks you a really personal question about your life that you rather not disclose, I'm assuming it's okay to tell a white lie.

Of course. We must judge "goodness" on how we effect or prevent harm. Here is an extreme example - you are being held hostage and you have information that would allow your captors to kill 100 people. Do you tell them the truth about what they want to know?

Here's a less extreme example - your wife loves her new dress and so does her girlfriend. Do you tell her you hate it?
