I'm 60 and I hang at your doorstep, torture is the wrong thing to do. I think these men have lost right and wrong in the business world. Torture is not America, we are suppose to play by the rules. As I look back I think America started to lose its meaning about the time that Ronald Reagan took office. When he fired the air traffic controllers it took something out of the country. Something sacred. Hey, I got my sign made and all I have to do is paint a slogan on and I will be in the streets again. But I think I will wait until after the election and see how that turns out.

I don't think the outrage is limited to baby boomers, though I'm at the tail end of that group...
I love my country. I'm often proud of it, when we show the world by example what it means to be free, moral, generous, hard-working, etc. When W signed that bill, I was ashamed of my country. It was yet another example of, "the end justifies the means," that this administration has made its rallying cry. Violate the constitution and federal law by wiretapping American citizens without a warrant? Of course, it's so we can catch terrorists! Flaunt the Geneva convention, anger the world, and do things the majority of Americans would never sign off on to "prisoners"? Of course, it's so we can catch the terrorists. On and on...I can't wait for this bunch to be gone from the white house so I have a chance of being proud of my country again :(

Wow the first two people who answered this question are SICK!!!
Rmember how concerned and sad people used to be over our POWs in the past now we just dont seem to care anymore because we will openly and legally torture the prisoners we take and let the world know that this beahavior is acceptable and should be used... The president doesn't care about our soldiers because as many repubs like to point out they are after all "volunteers".

draught dodging cowards, now warmongering torturers.
Alas, the USA has been, for many years, the only country to which international law does not apply.
Those who advocate torture should be the first to try it

"Bother" isn't the correct term. It is totally against acceptance of the majority and hope the world understands the U.S. citizens are outraged!

Perhaps you ought to define what kind of "torture" is being used rather than using an emotionally charged word. Perhaps you ought to acknowledge that in over 5 years, not one terror incident has occured in the USA.
_______
Iheart:
What's 'sick" about asking the definition of torture when the left defines torture as standing naked in front of a woman? When he has panties on his head? When he's forced to stand in a naked pyramind?
Give me a break.
