As THE WHO sang, "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss......"

I'm writing this mail to say that people just remember the artist when the film is made , n all the appreciation goes to the actors n very few people take note of the hardwork done by the director, his efforts and his command over the crew to make it perform better and all of them together make a difference.
I truly appreciate the tribute to the director of the Old DON i.e Mr. Chandrakant Barot. you've very well lived up to the original script. one thing is for sure, there cannot be any comparisons. It would be wrong to compare the two. If farhan would have made the same thing again the film, then three would not have been the conflict point and it would have got slaughtered, now when he's adapted it and tried something different with it, its again being slaughtered .Without Farhan , i don't think anyone would have done such a lot of justice to the whole script the way he's shaped it .I would give full marks to the director i.e. farhan. Hatts of to the makers of the film i.e both farhan akhtar and ritesh sidhwani.Lets give the New Don and its makers its due respect.
This is what i call a true intelligently made entertaining flick. Its edgy, its different, its thrilling, its beautifully shot, amazing locales, right casting, mindblowing effects, rocking music, very well adapted.
With the same story line, writing the screenplay in a very modernised, high tech and technically savvy manner, very stylish, with a lot of glamour n truly lived up to the famous dialogue "DON ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi......, naamumkin hai". Mr. Boman irani was the surprise package, its was terrifcally Outstanding. The air-fight sequence was breath-taking.
Everyone did a fabulous job. The look of the film, i.e. the Art direction/ production design with all those greys, greens and black was complementing the theme of the flick. It was a very controlled performances by all the actors. Brilliant job done by the technicians. I liked Farhan's twist in the tale i.e. the characterizaton, the beggining and the end was fab when shahrukh says "DON ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi........., and then the screen goes black n everyone in the theatre is like what the hell, has the electricity gone n then the laughter, woooooooooooooh amazing doesn't need to say namumkin hai, because the laughter says it all.
I loved watching the film ,briliant attempt.Infact a very courageous one. Lets change our perspective towards remakes, rather the adapted versions of the classics like the new Don is, and appreciate the piece of work as tribute to the old one.
new don was not good then old don.old don is ameyzing............................................

The new Don is not as good as the old Don. Comparison is inevitable as there are a lot of common things. The famous song "Khai Ke Paan" is just one example. Technologically the new Don is better just because of new and improved cinematography and technology, and ofcourse, the absurd amount of money poured into this SRK vehicle.. Stunt scenes are filmed better nowadays since Bollywood finally realized they have to imitate Hollywood technology or else nobody would watch their action films. One shining example of great use of modern film-making technology is Krrish.
The new Don has a different twist in the story and I am not sure it is all that good. The original House of Secrets on which the original Don was based, did follow the original storyline to some extent.
Overall, the new Don is certainly not as good as the old one. Old is not always gold, but in this instance the saying comes true.

Any day! Sharukh the kind of Bollywood weaves magic. I was spell bound for the little over 2 hrs 30 mins. that i spent watching the movie.
Only some die hard old kharoos people (who never seem to accept that they are old and outdated) love to stick with the old DON movie. No doubt the old DON was good but the objective of doing this remake was to present this in the new format or style.
Farhan Akhtar has done full justice to screenplay. If not for anything else just go to see Shahrukh. He carries the whole movie on his shoulders singlehandedly.

The new Don and the old Don are two completely different films. The new one is innovative and interesting and he's ultra cool. The old Don was a great film, the acting was excellent, but the main character was supposed to be a country bumpkin. I'm an action film aficionado and the final fight scene in the old Don just made me laugh. It was a great clip for laughs, but not one fitting a serious film.

Tough one... I will have to say that the new don is far more appealing.... The old don charmed his way into our hearts, but the new don "anti-hero"-stylishly photocopied himself into our hearts. I think this don is more appealing because there was so must intrigue... Many people were wondering how King Khan would fair in a action pact movie, which he hasn't done in a long time. Also there was the mysterious vibes in the song Mein Hoon Don sung by Shaan, which gave hints on how exciting the movie is goin to be... and boy did it live up to all the hype... With ease Khan mesmerised us by this never before seen side of him.

They both are different....comon yaar...Dont we think that,
Why to compare these both Don's ?
I want to say that acting of Don is shown here in this movie

We didnt see Big B, act as SRK did when he acted as Don in this film. We saw in old Don that Vijay acted as Don but in this film we see Don acting as Vijay and hats off to SRK for a brillaint acting.

He won my heart again after Swadesh, Devadas. Brilliant work peice by Farahan Akthar..He is a brilliant Director and

people should have guts to make a remake - remake story film with such an ease. He really rocked and the music by three is awesome ultra cool...I saw DON 15 times and still counting dude

I would say this DON is a blockbuster of 2006 n that Don of that year of 1978...Its all in the way of making
