11 days ago I was given a ticket for making an illegal turn (NOT a red light), and I was never told how much. Does any one know exactly where I can find out how much it is or where I can pay it?

Thier phone line is constantly busy and none of the violations codes on the back refer to mine. The internet proved useful only for red lights and parking, and I only have 4 days left to mail this in.
Does any one know how to deal with such a situation?

they usually have a fine amount they circle on the sidfe or on the back, but the offender's copy is not always clearly marked.

I'd send it in pleaing "guilty," and a check for $10, with a note explaining the problem. If you owe more than that, you can be sure they'll let you know.

Have you physically gone down to the Court house? I would go and wait in line if I were you. If their lines are as busy as their phones then it could take all day, so pack a lunch. Do not leave until you get this resolved. Bring cash with you for payment, even though you do not know the amount, I would bring a hundred dollars cash. When you find out the fine for the ticket and if a hundred isn't enough, you can ask for an extension to pay it. If the clerk will not extend the deadline then run to the nearest bank, get the money you need, get a money order and mail it off A.S.A.P. with a note explaining why it was late.

Really it is ridiculous that the fine amount wasn't written on the ticket.

Good Luck

It sounds like your violation would fall under the "Disobeying traffic control signal, STOP sign or YIELD sign" category (3 pts) more than the "Any other moving violation" category (2 pts).

Send in the higher fine of the two, and they will contact you with a correction if necessary.

Call the police department (non-emergency) in the city or county that you got the ticket in. (1) call the switchboard # of the court house, e-mail them, there should be an e-mail address on the ticket.

Go find a cop or go to the police station and ask there. They can tell you both things.
