Only if you let it. Borat is a character and should be taken for the silly humor that it is. That what having a sense of humor is all about.

Actually yes, borat (in a strange way) has changed peoples opinions of Khazakstan. To begin with, it has put the country on the map and brought the name to people who have never heard of it. Most actually thought it to be a fictional country.

Due to 'Borat' going around trying to show how poor and strange Khazakstan is, has caused outrage in the country itself.

This has led to media coverage (from the west) over whole incident. Comedians and Politions from Khazakstan have spoken out over the 'slur' and as a result have shown a human face with a sence of humour.

But unfortunatly there will be those (statistically spoeaking) who watch borat and belive him to be real and not realise that he is fictional. But as these people are either from the lower end of the IQ spectrum (who believe that everything on TV is real), or only watch TV once a year (no insult here, but think of the armish) or are unfortunate enough to suffer from some sort of mental illness (once again no insult intended)

To anyone who changes their perceptions of Kazakhstan based on Borat, I have the deed to the Brooklyn Bridge I'd like to sell you...

I think the ideas behind the making of Borat, were irony in a way to challenge the preconceived ideas certain people have of themselves and races different from their own. Every race has an element who are racist and most people have preconceived ideas as to what people of certain races are like as people.

If you thought that Kazakhstan was populated with sheep herders and nomadic tribes people, then it will change your opinion.

No they don't change are prediction on Kazakhstan. We all know that it is a muck about and anyone who thinks that it does is a waste of time and needs to get a scene of humor.
