I think this success in these areas is more to do with aspirations of blacks (in general) rather than any physical superiority. If whites had as few opportunities to succeed in life as blacks do then maybe there would be more half-decent white sprinters. Same goes for boxing. Etc. If being an olympic swimmer was the way to riches then there'd be an awful lot more successful black swimmers than there are now (imho).

the long distance runners ate black but most of the short distances are not held by blacks but by American half casts.
in the case of the long distance blacks it is because their bodies are adapted to lean and to train at high altitude. in the case of the American half casts it is because they have so few ways out of poverty that they simply try harder. the same thing happened in boxing with the Italians and Irish when they were bottom of the pile. there is a possibility because American blacks are not pure when compared to real blacks that the cross of the races produces F1 vigor that has continued after the first cross.

Yes...! Although, I have always thought there were some limitations to this...such as synchronized swimming and crosscountry skiiing --too damn cold!
