I live in a quadplex building. I am in the middle, the house next to mine and the one on the end are being torn down because of the amount af mold that is in their places. Doesn't mold grow through the walls? Do I need to be worried that my house can be infected as well?

is there any thing (website, or something) that you can direct me to to bring to the housing people where I am living?

I'd be worried. Have the inspectors look at your house, too.

YES..... Are the ajoining walls, Commonly called Demissing walls, have Mold.....Are any of the heating or cooling systems using a common fresh air vent...?

I have over 15 years in dealing with the mold issue...from identifing to repairing the problem...I would be in contact with my insurance agent and find out what they are going to do...You have a very large concern and Frankly a problem......When they go and Demo the 2 houses on each side of you, the mold spores will be released into the air and your house will be effected... the degree will depend on what the demo people do to protect your house from the spores.....Good Luck

I would be MORE worried about someone doing demolition on a dwelling I was living in. How can someone get a permit for this with people allowed to live in the same building?

Document any cracks/damage in your house that appear due to the demo around you!

Contact your building inspector and let them know this is going on. Below is a link. Find your state's office and call them. Good luck.

u should be worried about mold, it would be a good idea to check
your walls and ceilings as mold can spread and also be in other
places u wouldnt expect , but if u do find mold it would be a good idea to look for a good contractor to remove the mold, be careful who u ask some guys will do a bad job, and also if u have renters ins. check and see if your covered also if your experiencing breathing problems
it would be a good job to get checked out wish u well in your venture

you should DEFINITELY be worried. unfortunately, i don't have any info. on a website. however, who is doing the tearing down? is it the homeowner, or is the county building department involved (i.e. are the being condemned?). if the county is involved, call the building department. if not, you may have to get an outside contractor to do an inspection. just make sure they are a certified mold inspector.

I would be that just wouldn't make sense that the 2 next to you are moldy but yours isn't? If bread gets mold on it you throw the whole thing away you don't just throw away the piece with mold on it.....& if you do gross!

Only be worried if you have mold. Pay someone to check on it.

Yes, you should be concerned.

Good cleaning, with chlorox, having dry conditions so the mold will die, this is important.

But be prepared for the worst. You may have to rebuild.

you should have your walls checked as well. it might be between you and the one thats getting knocked down. they might have had a bad leak between them and didnt let it dry right and thats what got them contaminated, but if its just bad construction in general you might have it too.

get checked to be sure and safe, it can be a REALLY bad safety issue especially for kids and people with bad allergies and ashsma
