Marks wife: Heartburn during pregnancy usually has something to do with the positioning of the baby not the amount of hair the baby has, i had chronic heartburn for the last three month of my pregnancy.
Try having a glass of milk before going to bed. Eat your food slowly and try not to eat too close to going to bed, also stay away from acidic food as these tend to make matters worse!!! Good Luck!!

LOL It doesn't mean the baby has hair....that is an old wives tale. You get horrible heartburn b/c your stomach is squished and pushed toward the top more. It also has a lot to do with the hormone levels right now.
I took Tums and that helped--sometimes. Sometimes Maalox with gas relief helped better. Other than that there isn't much you can take....
If it is really bad your doc can give you an Rx to help with it.
Here is an excerpt from the site below....
An over-the-counter antacid that contains magnesium or calcium may ease discomfort, but check with your prenatal caregiver before taking one, because some brands contain aluminum or aspirin or are high in sodium. You should also check in with your healthcare provider if none of these suggestions helps.
Go to that site and it helps you find ways to help deal and prevent heartburn.

The hair and heartburn thing is an old wives tale. Heartburn has nothing to do with how much hair your baby has. The heartburn is caused from your uterus pressing up against your stomach and digestive organs. Don't eat before bedtime. Avoid foods that are acidic, like tomatoes and citrus fruits. Also, avoid sugar and caffeine because they can cause acid in the stomach. You can also try sleeping somewhat reclined. Try putting some extra pillows behind you. Sleeping on a 30% incline can help decrease heartburn.

It doesn't mean the baby has hair! I had horrible heart burn and my daughter was bald! It means the baby is pushing on your stomach and causing your stomach acids to back up into your esphogas and causing heart burn. Try a couple things.....do not eat anything 2 hours before bed, if really needed...eat something dairy or crackers, and try sleeping propped up by pillows or sleeping in a recliner. Natural gravity to keep the acids down will help. Also, cut back on anything with spices and sodium. Good Luck!
