Black men are not the only men who do that.
Tell her, they want to see who is checking them out. All men, like to be check out, especially by beautiful, hot girls.

What?!!!! If you were told you were s--- since you were born I think you'd feel the same way! People do treat african-americans differently, and in a not good way. If a neighborhood is known as a black neighborhood, it is automatically assumed to be worse than its white counterpart. Have you ever seen "the stare"? It's when white people stare at you because you are in their neighborhood (like you don't have the right to be there). Nice, right? Civil Rights might be better now but things are FAR FROM EQUAL.

Maybe your mom should take a trip outside of her circle and realize that all black men aren't living in the past. And to you, all black men don't fight and murder one another. Most of them don't even refer to themselves as homies. People like you get that ignorance from t.v. You don't know anything about black men and it is obvious that you are not willing to think outside of your stereotypical, little box.

No offense but this is one of the most ignorant and trivial questions that I have yet to witness on yahoo answers, for someone your mother's age she should be more mature than to ponder over such a trivial stereotype.

That's like asking, why don't white people have any rhythm. You just can't classify any group of people together. I know Black people that talk white and white people that talk black. I hope your mom is smart enough not to pass on this type of thinking to you. It's not right.

Your mother is sterotypical that happens when one lives a sheltered life not going to anywhere exciting. So go traveling as much as you can so you don't end up believing in sterotypes.
