Keep the phone in the bed with you. Do bedrest at a friends house so that there is always someone with you, or have someone come and chill with you and watch movies all day so that you are not alone.
I was on bedrest the last three weeks as well, and thats what I did. I was either at a friends house resting on their bed or couch watching tv and movies or they were at mine.
And I always always had my cell phone near me. Never had it out of reach. Good luck :o)

The 'braxton hicks' are NOT the same a real labour! Your body is preparing itself for the real thing!
Do not expect your water to break... as it is very possible you will be in big time labour.... and the Dr. will be the one to break your water right before you deliver. Do not use 'water breakage' as a real labor sign.
Trust your body..... trust yourself... you are going to know when it is real.... it is way more painful than the braxton hicks.
Considering this is your 1st baby.... I would not fret that you will not make it to the hospital. 1st babies usually take their time entering the world... cause Mom is also learning how to deliver!
This is and will be the most amazing experience of your life! Woman all over the world do this every minute of every day.... you can do this too!
Stay positive! Lil' babs feels everything you feel!
Love and light!
I should ADD.... water breakage IS a sign of labour! What I meant is that don't WAIT for your water to break to tell you you are in real labour! You could be in real labour.... and your water has not broke! Also... it might not be a big sploosh of water.... could be a dribble all day. CALL your Dr. if that happens!

well, you'll know when its time to get to a dr. if you're on bed rest, just keep a phone within reach. if your water breaks, call 911, THEN worry about getting in touch with your husband. my mom had me 2 weeks early, so you might have the baby any time. at first, she thought she just had indigestion, but it lasted all day, and then her water broke. my boss was having labor pains all day, but she was in the middle of making a big pot of sauce and didnt tell anyone until she was done cooking. she ended up having the baby in the hall of the hospital. my aunt on the other hand, was only in labor for an hour for both of her kids. they just popped right out!!
so you need to have the paramedics there before you worry about your hubby. he can meet you at the hospital if need be. you'll know when the baby is coming tho.

Usually with your first pregnancy, labor is very long. Hopfully you will be able to fell the difference. Make sure you keep a phone with you at all times. You might even want to keep on the in bathroom, just in case. I hope everything goes okay with you.

It could just be Braxton Hicks Contractions. Which may feel like the real thing but it's not. You will know if it's the real thing, they will be much stronger and last longer. But if your really concerned call your doctor he may want you to come in to check things out, also to see if your dilated, and if your cervix is thinning out.

you should relax and stop thinking about all the negative things that could happen. About the contractions just time them to see when do you need to get to the hospital....also keep your dr informed on what's going on so he/she know you are close to delivery. Good luck
