It's just a matter of preference

Intel has better support than AMD

The latest range the core Duo are the fastest processors in the world

So intel would be a better buy

AMD hands down - although look to the new Turion (dual core) range. They run far cooler and out perform at just about every point. The only reason they haven't grown quicker (esp in the laptop realm) has been due to the dirty-tricks campaigns run by Intel - such as locking manufacturers into ONLY using Intel chips...F*CKING DISGUSTING

Oh and "Mitch" - before using a Mac as selling point for Intel, need I remind you just how many bugs there are proving to be courtesy of their CPU?? And of course they can be taken out of the country - half their processors aren't even BUILT in America ya goose...and designed in Israel!

it all depends what you do on the computer gameing or pics go AMD but the reason reseachers go with intel is because they 1 get a better discount 2 intel is a wider know processer to non computer tech (the people who buy the science peoples computer)

Core 2 Duo. The best processors in the world, and macs use them. I heard you cant take them out of the country because they can be used for nuclear and medical research. Plus, It is good if you want to install two OS's (Operating Systems)
