a very thought provoking question. 9 on a 10 point scale.
a child will be afraid of darkness as its more like unknown realm which has many hidden mysteries. being afraid of darkness is a learned response. we learn to "fear" an object, person or unknown entity.
contrary to this is man being afraid of light. my mom always used to tell...as the child grows up, he/she will grow worldly wise and draw away from God. we are thought to believe that God is light and everything that does not have light symbolizes darkness or evil. i believe, light will bring out out inner faults, maladies and our drawbacks. i am helpless but i think i am foolish enough to be afraid of light, which i am.

Neither is foolish. The child is afraid because there can be very scary things in the dark. Real things. And a man afraid of the Light is afraid of what the light will ask of him. Dark or Light there is danger everywhere. The Psalms say "the night is the same as the day to you oh Lord.".

If the child is not afraid of the dark as he/she has been in the mother`s womb for a long time. The child will have apprehension and once the mother is near the child will not mind if it is dark or bright.
Man , afraid of the light is not foolish but shows a deep fear of something.. a psychological fear or a complex. he is not foolish. he is just ignorant.

Neither is foolish! A child is afraid, because of how something makes them feel, and a man is afraid for the same reason. It is a feeling, and emotion that is real and has value to that person, and should not be taken lightly.

If Fobs Makes Me Foolish In Your Mind Then You Are The Fool Because Everyone Fears Something And Don't Say "Not Me, No Way" For He Who Claims To Fear Nothing Is The Biggest Fool Of All.

Oooh, you ask such deep questions...I would say the man afraid of the light.
A child afraid of the dark is understandable, but an adult afraid of the light...well that is sad really...because if we haven't learned to overcome fears and take risks by the time we are adults we likely never will...besides...we all know there is nothing bad to fear in enlightenment of any kind! :~)

Interesting question.
We are all afraid of the unknown in some measure, I think, and we are all fools to some degree. We seem to be born with fear, and that is a sort of wisdom, as it aids us in our survival.
So, I wouldn't say that one is more foolish than the other.
Darkness comes once a day, and what we can't see, may feed our imagination, and fear may arise.
However, light, of the kind you are referring to, is a continuous offering, and once one is aware of it, it draws like a moth to flame. Why not just be brave and choose it?

the man afraid of the light because I think man (a grown up) should have more knowledge to have the reasons what he is afraid of. Unless, he is medically not recommended to 'interact' with light or he is one of prince dracul's offsprings or other rational reasons, then he is a foolish.

Neither is foolish. Both are afraid. Do their fears have any basis in fact? Who can say? Certainly not us. Respecting the fears of others comes with maturity.
