I will probably get a lot of thumbs down for this and a lot of "dont listen to her", but with my sister and my own child (yes, I raised my sister), I took the approach of, if they are not exposed to it, they cannot become immune to it, and they will be sick. I took my sister out about two weeks after she was born. She was around other people in grocery stores, she was in my pool while other people were, she was everywhere I was. She has never been sick besides the one year she got the flu at seven years old.
With my son, the day after I got out of the hospital (he was then three days old) I took him to a baseball game to 'watch' daddy play baseball. He is now almost four months, I dont see him getting sick at all. He is around other children and many adults.
Dont shelter the baby for too long or they will have very low tolerance.
And what someone above said about taking them to noisy places is so true. I was holding my son at a birthday party while he was asleep and everyone around me was screaming happy birthday and he was still sound asleep. There's no "shh, turn the tv down, or whisper" because the baby is asleep.

you don't have to wait Just dress her for the weather. They say babies need the same amount of clothes as you do so if you need long sleeves she does too. When you go out just don't let people touch her or get in her face - germs germs. My baby seat attaches to the grocery cart - don't use the baby seats that are already on the carts God only knows what been in them - boogers, poop, drool....If yours doesn't attach just set it down in the big part of the cart. My 4th baby will be 8 mths on the 3rd.

My daughter replace into born on Jan. 30. I took her out at approximately 3 weeks. yet although, I stay in Arizona, so it replace into incredibly heat out. in case you reside someplace chilly, i would not take the toddler out for a whilst except that's a speedy holiday to the food market or well being care provider. there are various germs and the toddler is greater in possibility for RSV (a perilous respitory ailment) in the chilly. incredibly if the toddler is under 3 months and much greater so for a untimely toddler. only use person-friendly experience. in case you have family interior attain, and your toddler would not have assorted youthful cousins (who've a tendency to hold greater germs by way of fact youngsters do not wash their hands as a lot and stuff), you ought to use your judgement. solid success. don't be too wanting to take him/her out. And no, you at the instant are not being over protecting, you're being a solid mom already! :)

Hi there,
In my own experience a baby should be going out at any age, this way they can experience new sounds, of course some things different to see. You also have to be able to go out for your piece of mind as well. As long as she is warm and comfortable you are on your way. There is nothing stopping you, take what you need and go, it will do you both wonders. She will love you for it and you will yourself. Good Luck Get out and have fun....

Don't worry, as long as you don't let anyone touch your baby she will be just fine. I took my little girl to the portrait studio (at the mall) when she was only 4 days old and she was just fine. Just make it a habit to wash or use hand sanitzer before touching your baby after handling things like money (think about how many germy hands touch THAT everyday!) Your baby will be just fine as long you exercise a little caution :)

As long as your baby is healthy and dressed appropriatly she should be fine. I wouldn't go letting strangers touch her or anything until she is a bit older. I sometimes think that doctors tell you to wait more for you than the baby as we new mothers feel the need to get back to normal quickly and can sometimes over due it and risk our own health. So just make sure that YOU don't over due it.

You can take her out when ever you want to. I had to wait because I had c-sections and wasn't allowed to drive...Just make sure you time your errands between feedings and have a logical list that will help you be as efficent as you can...
