It is whatever you choose to label it. Every crisis is an opportunity. You can see life as difficult or you can see it as challenging. Life is an adventure! If it were easy, what would be the point? It would be dull. You'd take it all for granted. The struggle builds character. The greatest people throughout history overcame enormous obstacles to achieve greatness. Just do whatever you need to do. Life is a journey. There may be bumps along the road, hairpin turns, dead-ends. You may get lost now & then. Just enjoy the journey, whatever it brings. Troubles don't last forever. It does get better. Happier days could be just around the bend.

I find myself asking the same question from time to time.
Sometimes I agree with those who say life is difficult to help us with our character building. At other times I cannot accept this because the 'personality' that seems to be being built - by god knows what - is a hideously distorted shadow of what I feel I could be if things went my way a little more.
Sometimes I find the notion that how things are for us depends upon the label we give it has some credibility. And certainly I've met a few Drama Queens for whom the smallest mishap is a disaster! So I do think this has a bearing on how much ‘difficulty’ we find in our lives.
There is also the philosophy that says we create our life depending upon what we focus on. From this point of view we have a difficult life because we make the same mistake as most other people – our focus is far too often on what we do NOT want! Those people who say that their life is wonderful and it all depends upon what you focus on are not necessarily deluded – they may have learned (by accident or by consciously training their mind) to focus more on what they want than what they do NOT want.
The hard part is to stop focussing on what has happened in the past, or even taking to heart what is happening now. We usually use the past and our current situation to confirm our beliefs about how difficult things are. Yet to create something different in the future, we need to be focussing on what we would prefer instead.
We can start with noticing when we are thinking about problems. Then try to intervene with the question: "Am I thinking about what I want?" Next, try to focus for MORE time and with MORE enthusiasm/energy/emotion on what you would prefer.
Eventually, you will be able to focus upon the difficulties only as long as you need to in order to overcome any immediate problem, and use most of your inner resources for concentrating on what you truly want. In doing this you will be creating a life full of joy and happiness – without the struggle!
Sounds impossible, unreal. You have a choice:
1. Keep on thinking the same way as you’ve been taught since childhood and reap more of life’s difficulties.
2. Try this new way of thinking and see what you get?
By the end of the week the website below will have more resources to help you change your mind to this new way of thinking … but look at the page on Affirmations to get you started.
Good luck with the future - it CAN be easier. I'm sure you will make the right choice. :-)

Well, when you ask that, you are affirming a thing that not necessarily is correct, much less universally correct. That is: life is difficult.
People make it turn difficult, or to be more precisely: make determined aspects of it difficult in determined times, in determined spaces, ambients. It is not the case, therefore, that life itself is like that. Such a predicative is a human atributuion, not a ontological being, an ontological entity.
However, given that difficulties make part of life (in fact, part of our lifetime, not life itself), it can very well be associated with life being difficult. Even though it is not a correct way to say that.
"Meaning in a second language is, for me and for others, a difficult thing to do; meaning in a second language for me is part of my everyday life; therefore, there is something in my like that makes it difficult, what does not mean that 'it' is in itself difficult."
That's what I wanted to say! Uhh!
Have a good weeknd and don't give up!

Life is difficult to lead, there is no doubt in that. But it is not the case with only some of us, everyone has difficulties in life, it is the law of nature. This difficulties are the part and parcel of everyone's life. You have to understand that mind is just a machine which acquires knowledge by a specific process called as Learning.Learning is done by repeated experiences. Only when someone gets repeated difficulties does his/her mind learns to become strong, and from that strength mind evolves into a higher machine. Man becomes complete only when difficulties arise. These difficulties are nothing but new experiences. If you run away from them, you will never be able to become strong. As great people say "Life is just a set of experiences to make ourselves strong. What makes life difficult? The nature of mind is that it always wanders, sometimes it wanders in the zone of Happiness, and sometimes it may encounter a problem and that it feels it cannot solve and makes it a difficulty. The only way is to stop your mind from wandering, some people do this by concentration, meditation and etc. I take an atheistic perspective here, We make life tough not God. But Madhavi, there is as always hope, hope is magical, it is one thing in mind which is not artificial. Cling to that hope, make others hopeful and then your life would turn magical.

It is difficult because you made it difficult. If you say you're life is really hard it will be. but think for a minute. Is it really that difficult? imagine what those people in Africa have to live through. they have to work all day, in the heat and poor conditions. They would love to have a life like yours. so, be happy with watcha got. and if u imagine ure life like one of those people in africa, ur life will seem easy. and if u say ur life is really good, it will be.

Because the things you feel are "diffucult" at the moment have not been dominated and over come. People always feel that challenges are difficult until you have practiced; studied it; or just plain over come them. When's the last time you found tie-ing your shoes difficult???? - well I haven't recently but I tell ya; when I was learning to tie my shoes when I was very young, it was the difficulty of the time!!!

Nothing good comes easy.if you look around you, you'll see that all the great men in the world today passed through a difficult time before getting to their peak.just like Nelson Mandela of South Africa,he went through 'hell' in order to make his country what it is today.Look in life everything has an opposite;good-bad,positive-negative,God-devil,easy-difficult,etc.My dear friend, you have to make your life as interesting as you want it to be.it is all in your hands to make it better.in all you do keep this in your heart,it may help you'Tough times never last but tough people do'.

Since life is life. For illustartion purposes, imagine your life as a piece in a game of Jenga. Now imagine that everything has a piece in this Jenga game. Everytime you attempt to change the order of where your piece is it shifts the balance of the structure, either so there is less strain on you, or more, or that you're higher, or lower. Now, since everything has a piece in this game, it is difficult to accurately predict where you should move your piece to for maxium effect, since the puzzle is contiusly shifting.
