for the same reasons that hetro couples have, they feel threatened and have to promote their egos and agendas to justify their lifestyle...fear...

To me people are people! There are nice gay people and there are some gay people who have the most nastiest personality ever! That goes for straight people as well. One is no better then the other. Now if you're thinking in terms as individually holding your head high and wanting to be considered a nice person because you actually are, then that's a different story. But in my book and trust me I know the straights the gays, the confused, the hookers, the junkies, the dealers, the police officers, I know them all! And individually when it comes down to personalities, everyone and I mean everyone has a good side and a bad side. There are no perfect human beings on this planet. So I wish all of the people who claim they are Saints would truly stop getting it twisted!

There may very well be a greater number of gay / lesbian people with positive traits because people are pressured to counter-act all the negative stereotypes applied to us. Or, more likely, you've met people who think they're equal to you and you're just not buying it.
I will say that in many cases, gay and lesbian people DO necessarily HAVE to be better than straight people. Parents, for example: because their sexuality is viewed as this "deficiency", they need to be better in other ways to make up for it to prove that they can handle being parents. Doesn't mean "gay people are better parents", but that two parents who are equal in every other way may find themselves seeing the straight parent get the kids. So, "gay parents are better parents" might be the truer statement. Want that to end? End the stigma and heterosexism.

Some gay/lesbian couples are the nicest people in the world... that's not bashing straight couples, it's a personal opinion... I don't think my gf and I are better than anyone... we're just a couple.

I don't share your perception. Usually such comments are made about gay couples (ie "There's a gay couple on my street and they are the nicest people...").
Gay couples share the same ups and downs, foibles and faults as heterosexual couples. Apart from the direct line to procreation, there is little difference. As a result, gay couples are seeking the same protections for their relationships that heterosexuals have nejoyed for years.

I don't think I am better than anyone else, I believe we are all created equal and I treat others with respect and dignity, just like I expect to be treated. Who cares if you are gay, or straight, as long as you are a good person? Btw, I am not the nicest person in the world, either, everyone has their flaws, everyone. :)

It's not true, gay and lesbian couples DO NOT think they're better than heterosexual couples. I've been on this site quite a bit and I haven't read ANYTHING to that effect.
It seems to me that you're on this site as frequently as you are because you want to find things to pick on.

YOU are GAY. We ALL know. All you do, 24/7, apparently, is sit in front of Yahoo Answers and post stupid, meaningless, pointless non-questions about gay people. Everybody - check out his history. He has a deep-seated fixation verging on the psychotic. Look fauxhawk, why don't you just go out and pick yourself up some dick and I think we'll ALL feel much better.
In answer to this particular stupid, meaningless, pointless non-question, they don't, but it's easy to see why you would assume so, pining as you do for gay sex on a non-stop basis.

I am straight but hanging out with gay couples is a lot more fun than with straights. they are more talkative, since they are same gender they get each other beter than a man would get a girl, and are more liveral.

I am a lesbian and I do not think I'm better than anyone else. We're all equal in the eyes of God regardless of how hateful or how nice we are to others.
