England put their clocks (time) back 1 hour this last weekend, 28/29 October, so it will get dark earlier (by 1 hour) than it did last week and this will stay in place until the spring when the hour is put forward 1 hour for the summer months. My question is: did America do the same this weekend?

Yes we did. The official time was Sunday morning at 2:00 am EST. The only exception is Arizona, they choose not to follow the daylight savings time.
