Yes you can because often times when a person pretends to be asleep a part of their soul is asleep and you can wake them
Or
A person that pretends to be asleep can actually fall asleep and thus you awake them

I guess this depends on the meaning of 'asleep' and 'wake'. On the surface someone pretending to have their body sleeping is pretending and already awake, so no. You could, however, pretend to wake up someone pretending to be asleep if you knew that they were pretending. Otherwise I guess you would be waking them and they would be pretending. So your truth would not be their truth. But there would be a deeper truth that would see the reality of it all.
On the other hand can you (awaken) enlighten one who is pretending to be unenlightened? How do you know that they are pretending?

No - You can't. You can wake up a person who is sleeping but not a person who is already awake (pretending to be asleep).

Well that's up to the fake sleeper... If they're pretending, they could choose to continue the pretense & not wake up. Or they may (to make it more believable) mime being awakened & startled. You have less control than you would with a real sleeper however. Since a real sleeper will jump awake if you're loud enough! The liar may just want to avoid you & pretend to be out cold.

If Not Sleeping No, If Sleeping Yes, If However Dead Then No. You Can't Waken Someone Who Only Feigns Sleep, Tho You Can Rouse The Sleeper. If Neither Feigning Sleep Nor Sleeping Be Chances Are I'm Dead And Thus You Can Not Raise Me.

if he is not asleep then he is already awake so you couldn't wake him up, but some cold water in the face could get him outta bed real quick

No but you could get them to open their eyes. The "pincer" is the best method, hurts like a motherfanta.
